In my post NBC life I’ve been doing a lot of introspection and soul searching as to what is next. I’ve been working on several different projects and have come to realize they all take a lot of time and hard work. This blog has become the easier one to get off the ground, hence that’s been my first and only platform to date since mid August. However, that’s about to change.

After much investigation, planning and meeting(mainly with myself), I’m about to take the plunge into the podcasting world. We live in a time where information gathering as well as our sources for entertainment are constantly changing. Podcasting has become another way of letting our voices be heard as well as providing information and entertainment in a much less restricted way than regular TV or radio. All of this, to a much larger worldwide audience.

Of course that being said, we are also living in a time where we are inundated with podcasts, streaming shows, etc. etc.

For my first dip in the water with podcasting, I want to try something that’s not seemingly out there in abundance. At least not the podcasts. The people who I am targeting are out there I’m sure.

The term middle-age is something most of us have heard. From what I can tell, most of you reading this blog are already there or approaching. Some are already on the other side of that and are recovering post middle-agers.

Middle age is defined from various sources to be approximately the ages of 45 to 65. Like it or not we are either heading there, there already, or it’s in our rear view mirror. For many it’s an interesting time filled with changes. Often, unexpected or desired changes. They are years filled with losses. Many of us go through divorce, lose parents, lose spouses or lose jobs. I kept the list short.

The point is, being middle aged is a bit like adolescence. As a grown adult you suddenly find yourself lost and confused. Reassessing your values and trying to figure out exactly who you are. It often feels like a struggle or a battle to just keep going.

My Weekend Warrior Wardrobe

That’s why I’ve decided to call the podcast The Middle Aged Warriors. I emphatically want to point out that using the term warrior is in no way intended to diminish or disrespect the young men and woman in this country and around the world that are serving and protecting. They are the true warriors. However, we sometimes need to take on that mentality to get through the struggles of being middle-aged.

I will be joined on the show by my good friend and great guy, Rick Sommers. Rick has quite a life story already, with much more to come. Many of you may know that name, as Rick was one of the voices for many years on the number 1 rated Lite-FM radio in NYC. We will be discussing many topics over the course of the show and are lining up some fun and interesting guests as well. We hope you join us and would love to involve our listeners as we evolve the show.

Rick and I getting our caffeine on!!

The podcast has not officially launched but it will be on the Bleav podcast network (www.bleav.com). I will be promoting it on all of my social media. If you’re not following me on Instagram ChrisCiminoWeather or Twitter Cimino4NY or Facebook please do, as I will keep everyone updated. Much more to come.

As always if you read this far…..thank you.

Sunshine Always.
