The Middle Age Warriors Turn 20! Plus What’s Cooking in Chris & Edmi’s Kitchen

August 3, 2020

As we all continue to slug our way through the pandemic something happened last week that I’m personally proud of. The podcast that was the brainchild of myself and good friend Rick Sommers reached an exciting milestone. We just posted our 20th episode!

When we first started this podcast, The Middle Age Warriors on the Bleav podcast network, we had no idea if it would last more than a few episodes. When I first started researching the statistics on podcasts I discovered that the average podcast never gets past 7 episodes.

That being said, I did not have the highest of expectations as the podcast world is so overcrowded the chances of genuine monetary success are quite small. The reality about The Middle Age Warriors is we certainly fall into that category as well.

The upside is that we don’t give up in trying to have our voices and other voices heard to help those of us dealing with middle age and the plethora of issues we encounter. My friendship with Rick Sommers, my co-host, has grown in both breath and depth and that unto itself is priceless.

We have had the opportunity to meet and interview people who have been in our lives, people we have never met before as well as shows in which Rick and I just chew the fat hopefully in an entertaining and enlightening way.

We are not looking to solve the problems of the middle age world but want others to know they are not alone. Hopefully we can lend some levity or thoughtfulness to the issues we are all dealing with. Of course when we started the podcast we were not planning on a pandemic. Such is life and we must figure out how to live with it and soldier on.

For those of you who haven’t listened in yet, please give one of our shows a try. If you have been a listener, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for that support. In a social media, blog, podcast, YouTube, Tiktok filled world, the fact that you took some of your precious time to give us a listen is heartwarming.

So at episode 20, I just wanted to say a collective thank you for your support. We will continue for as long as anyone is willing to listen. Please go to www.Bleav.com to support not only our podcast but the many others trying to find a voice as well. Also if you are so inclined, tells some friends to give it a listen and follow us.

Thank you to all of our guests as well and we hope in the weeks to come we can start to interview people in studio again. We can only hope.

Also send some positive thoughts and prayers as my buddy and co-host Rick continues his recovery from back surgery. Looking forward to working along side him soon.

About Me

About Me

Chris Cimino

WELCOME BACK MY FRIENDS..... My name is Chris Cimino and I'm a TV meteorologist(WPIX NYC) and host, as well as blogger and podcaster(Bleav In Middle Age Warriors) for the last 30+ years. I started this blog about 4 years ago after having my contract not renewed by WNBC in NYC, of who I worked for 24 years. Nearly 21 of those years were as the early morning meteorologist for Today In New York, the newscast that preceded the Today Show. Over the years I had the privilege of filling in for Al Roker on the Today Show, as well as a two year run as the regular Saturday morning meteorologist for the Weekend Today Show. As of July 2019 I found myself unemployed for the first time since I was 19 years old. Suffice to say that was a little more than a couple of years ago. I’ve been through a lot in the last 4 years of my life. Most of it has been good. The path wasn't always easy and I often feel the burn of still trying to rise from the ashes of my past life. While not 100% on either, I've learned two big lessons in this process. To forgive myself and to trust myself more. Short sentences.....long processes. I hope you will rejoin me again on this journey through what I will call upper mid-life. If I can help or inspire one person along the way then this is all worth it. Thanks for getting this far..... if you did. Read More
