While we all have been consumed in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, the world continues to go on around us. One of those constants is the weather world. As of the writing of this blog some rare and unusual weather events are taking place. Two tropical systems are threatening to make landfall along the Gulf Coast of the US within a 48 period.
This is an extremely rare event for any coastline, in terms of this happening along the Gulf Coast, it is unprecedented in recorded weather history.
In the meantime, record heat out west is leading to one of the worst firestorms in California and parts of Nevada. Nearly 160 record warmth temperatures have been recorded in south Florida. The list goes on and on.
We are on track to have the warmest temperature ever recorded on this planet in 2020. Here’s a look at the top 10 hottest years in recorded history for the planet.
1)2016 followed by 2019, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2014, 2010, 2013 and 2005(tied) and 1998. See a trend? If you don’t, read the years again. It’s clear in the last 15-20 years we have amassed the top ten hottest years ever recorded. Clearly something is going on and the planet is getting warmer and this WILL have an impact on our lives in an assortment of ways.
