Weekend Weather Recovery

April 19, 2024 No Comments

After a wild week of temperature swings and wardrobe changes, the weather this weekend will get back on track. A look back at the high temperatures this week in Central Park shows some incredible swings in the thermometer.

Monday: 82 Tuesday: 73 Wednesday: 62 Thursday: 50 (at 1AM, daytime high was 48) Friday: 60

Between Monday and Thursday afternoon a drop of nearly 35 degrees took place.

So heading into the weekend we might have to dodge a couple of showers this Friday night. Nothing heavy & scattered in nature. With the front lingering a bit Saturday morning a few showers may still be around until 9-10AM mainly east across Long Island. Sun mixed with clouds and seasonably mild temperatures will take over for the afternoon. Saturday night and Sunday should stay dry but somewhat cooler. Good looking start next week heading into Passover with the next chance of showers toward Wednesday morning. Another shot of chilly air returns Thursday into Friday next week.

Here’s your Weather For the People Forecast:

Tonight: Cloudy with a 60% chance of a couple of passing showers. Lows: near 50 city…….42-47 suburbs

Saturday: A morning shower risk, mainly across Long Island and CT. Highs: 67-72

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy and cooler. Lows: near 45 in the city, 37-42 in many suburbs

Sunday: Sun mixed with high clouds and cooler. Highs: around 60

Monday/Tuesday: Partly to mostly sunny seasonable Highs: 60-65

Overnight Tuesday night into Wednesday: Showers return 58-63

Have a great weekend. Sunshine Always!!!

Chris Cimino

WELCOME BACK MY FRIENDS..... My name is Chris Cimino and I'm a TV meteorologist(WPIX NYC) and host, as well as blogger and podcaster(Bleav In Middle Age Warriors) for the last 30+ years. I started this blog about 4 years ago after having my contract not renewed by WNBC in NYC, of who I worked for 24 years. Nearly 21 of those years were as the early morning meteorologist for Today In New York, the newscast that preceded the Today Show. Over the years I had the privilege of filling in for Al Roker on the Today Show, as well as a two year run as the regular Saturday morning meteorologist for the Weekend Today Show. As of July 2019 I found myself unemployed for the first time since I was 19 years old. Suffice to say that was a little more than a couple of years ago. I’ve been through a lot in the last 4 years of my life. Most of it has been good. The path wasn't always easy and I often feel the burn of still trying to rise from the ashes of my past life. While not 100% on either, I've learned two big lessons in this process. To forgive myself and to trust myself more. Short sentences.....long processes. I hope you will rejoin me again on this journey through what I will call upper mid-life. If I can help or inspire one person along the way then this is all worth it. Thanks for getting this far..... if you did. Read More
